STAR Plus, India’s leading General Entertainment Channel premiers Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai on Wednesday, August 5 at 8.30 pm. Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai is set to captivate viewers with a heart warming story of a young bride’s struggle to make a place for herself in her husband’s house. The story of Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai is set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh and highlights the predicament of women who are abandoned by their husbands, and are left to deal with life on the margins of the society.

Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai traces the journey of Dhaani a young, shy and naïve girl and her transition from being a dutiful daughter to a devoted wife, her twist of fate and a subservient role in her husband’s home. Dhaani gets married to a handsome and an affluent boy – Amber. The story takes an interesting turn when Amber’s parents force him to get married to a rich girl – Sarla who meets his family’s social status thus leaving Dhaani homeless and distressed. The show highlights Dhaani’s dilemma and showcases her perseverance and inner strength as she continues to perform her duties as a wife despite the adversities surrounding her life.

This show is a maiden television production of the creative duo – Director Shashi Mittal and writer Sumeet Mittal; and promises salute the spirit of Indian women who leave no stone unturned in guarding their honour and fulfilling their family duties.

It is a healthy exercise routine which combines laughter exercises and Yogic breathing techniques (Pranayama) which brings more oxygen to the body and brains making one feel more energetic and healthy. In this show Dr. Kataria the founder of Laughter Yoga clubs will lead the sessions by which the audience can actually learn Laughter Yoga exercises by watching the show.

A story of innocent love blossoming in warring families, Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna promises to enthrall the viewers with a bouquet of emotions ranging from love to hate, romance to pain and friendship to hostility.

Making their television debut with the show are newcomers Kunal Verma and Pooja Bose essaying the lead characters of Yugandhar and Vrinda, while television veterans Uday Tikekar and Chetan Pundit mesmerize with their power packed performances as Balwant and Vikramaditya.

Concept Note:

Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna is a story of two childhood friends with diverse backgrounds – one a zamindar and the other a mere farmer. Their friendship was one that the entire village vouched for but this friendship was not to last forever! Due to circumstantial misunderstandings the two friends part ways and the love between them turns into enmity.

The lead protagonists of the show Yugandhar and Vrinda are the grandchildren of these two friends and are completely oblivious of the tensions between their families. In the backdrop of the ensuing enmity, love blooms in the hearts of Yugandhar and Vrinda.

Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna will put to test the love of Yugandar and Vrinda in trying times. What remains to be seen is that will their love cross borders and make a new beginning?

Vikram Gokhale’s acting prowess as a man of principle and a father figure is known and would be seen playing his trademark best in Hemal Thakkar’s serial Jeevan Saathi on Colors. Vikram Gokhale plays the character of an authoritative man whose popularity spans across the world, for being the ambassador of Indian art and culture.

Producer Hemal Thakkar says, “Vikram Gokhale is a very fine actor. I have seen most of his shows and felt that no one else, but Vikramji will suit the character. The kind of presence and dignity he holds is unmatched, and will totally justify the character that he plays in Jeevan Saathi.”

A wacky love story with a hint of comedy. SAB launches a unique love story ‘Jugni Chali Jalandhar’ a new family comedy from September 29, 2008 every Monday to Thursday 9.30 pm. For the first time in the history of Indian television, viewers will trace the journey of a young educated girl breaking the societal myths through a comic lens.

The show has been produced by Tony & Deeya Singh, who have had several hits like Left Right Left, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and others to their credit. With illustrious characters and a powerful cast, ‘Jugni Chali Jalandhar’ will surely challenge the mindsets of people who think that educated women are not good homemakers.

Announcing the launch of the show Mr. Anooj Kapoor, Business Head, SAB said “With the launch of this show, SAB will successfully become the final destination for family comedy shows. This is the fourth show we have launched in the past 2 months and now our primetime (Monday to Thursday 8-10pm) strongly underlines our new strategy of providing daily light entertainment for the entire family. Though ‘Jugni Chali Jalandhar’ talks about a relevant social issue, the treatment of the same will be light-hearted without diluting the relevance of the issue.”

This is a story of a girl who is in love with the hero who comes from a family with set principles and beliefs regarding marriages of the sons. These rules have been followed for generations and the hero too would abide by them, according to which Jugni is not eligible to get married to the hero. The belief that ‘educated women can never become good homemakers’ is deep imbibed into the minds of the family members. Thus, all the bahu’s of the house are uneducated and keep their husbands happy.

While Jugni is an educated woman (doctor by profession) from London, she can never get married to the man of her dreams. Herein lies the challenge, which Jugni takes up, and is all set on her path to get married. She keeps it low that she is well educated and finally gets married to him. The story then graduates along with her aim to break the age-old myth of the family, that only uneducated women can keep the house going. With various strong characters in the show ‘Jugni Chali Jalandhar, is a fun filled, hilarious show and a family entertainer.
