All party goers and food lovers, especially in the northern suburbs of Mumbai, are in for a treat(literally) with the newly launched pub and banquet hall Chilli 2 Vanilla on Friday night by ex-television producer Neetu Joshi and Sanjay Mittal, CEO of Vedansh Hospitality and Resorts Pvt. Ltd.

The proud owners assure their brand to be nothing lesser than a four star experience! The event kicked off with a grand opening of foreign dancers performing on belly dancing and some salsa. The restaurant had Indian food on the menu albeit it caters to Indian and Chinese Cuisine otherwise. After having emerged as a star property in Kandivali W, with their successful launch of the restaurant earlier this month, the pub launch too was a grand success with a host of telly actors dropping in to join in the celebrations.

Among the first ones to arrive were Sooraj Thapar and  Hemant Pandey. The other actors present at the du were Sweta Keswani with husband Alex o Nell, who seem to be spotted at a party for the first time after their wedding. Murli Sharma and Ashwini Kalsekar were seen enjoying the starters accompanied by drinks. Soniya Kapoor and Dippshikha who surprisingly did not make an entry together this time. Others were Ayub Khan minus wife, Dilip Agarwal, Varun Badola, Vikram Acharya, Paritosh Painter, choreographer Seema Desai, Delnaaz Paul, Vandana and Rajesh Khattar, Mreenal Deshraj, Shivani Gosain, Bakthiyaar and Tanaaz Irani, Anupam Bhattachrya with wife and many more.

Proving to be an all under one roof experience, the restaurant boasts of having everything it has to offer, right from fine dining to pub, coffee shop, banquet and an independent ice cream section too. And like the name suggest, just about all the flavours on our taste buds!

Looks like this is yet another haven for party goers to crash!!!

Harsh Chhaya is thanking his lucky stars after his near fatal plane accident. Returning from Jaipur after a visit to Ajmer Sharief, Harsh caught an afternoon Kingfisher flight. But soon after take off, a flock of 5-6 migratory birds ran into one of the engines!

What resulted was a loud thud followed by the plane suddenly dipping sharply in the air! The plane soon steadied itself after a quite a while of turbulence.

Commenting on the mishap says Harsh,  “It was scary but the pilot Mr. Pinaki Roy managed to take us back safely in 10 min. 8-9 blades of the engine had been damaged in the accident. Finally after going back to Jaipur, we took the next flight to Mumbai after 2 hours.”

That was surely a close call Harsh.

The hilarious tug-of-war between Saas and Bahu continues on SAB TV’s popular show ‘Main kab Saas Banoongi’ and without doubt, this battle transcends on the sets of the show as well. The comic duo of Bharati Achrekar (Saraswati) who plays the over bearing Saas and Vandana Pathak (Sheela Devi) who essays the role of her Bahu have brought splits of laughter to the viewers. Not sparing anyone from their comic mayhem, the cast and crew on the sets of the rib-tickling show are constantly attacked with jokes and funny instances by the duo.

Besides being funny and extremely talented, it is common knowledge on the sets of ‘Main Kab Saas Banoongi’ that Vandana Pathak is an excellent cook! There is absolutely no questioning this particular fact because Bharti Achrekar herself keeps boasting about her ‘Bahu’s’ cooking skills. To prove this, the entire cast on the sets decided to put her to test.

Following the idea, Bharti Achrekar decided to play a prank on Vandana. She invited the entire cast and crew to lunch that would be specially cooked by Vandana Pathak herself. Being a good sport that she is, Vandana was all ready for her Saas’s challenge. She cooked a lip-smacking meal for around 20 unit members. But deciding to have some fun of her own, she included one ‘special’ dish as well.

While feasting on the fabulous meal, the unsuspecting cast and crew were led to a surprise dish by the mischievous cook. To get her revenge because of the task she had been put through, Vandana had added lots of extra spices to the very special dish. When our sources checked with Vandana she said, “Aapko toh pata hai ki main kitni achchi aur agyankari bahu hoon. Lekin ek achchi Bahu bhi kabhi kabhi boori ho jaati hai. Toh maine socha, chalo badhiya khane ke saath saath inhe Bahu ki ‘Teekhe tewar’ bhi dikha doon.”

Mreenal Deshraj whose last show Sujata has winded up recently, will now be seen in Shhh…. Koi Hai. Looks like Mreenal will get no rest! The pretty actress will be seen playing her trademark best- an outright negative role, opposite Aly Khan who is returning to television after a long hiatus.

“The shoot took place in a colossal palace of Kolhapur that gave the theme of the show a very authentic feel! For the first time sshhh….will have eight episodes instead of normal two episodes. I play the princesses in ‘Ek thi Rajkumari’ and create a lot of destruction for my vested interests; the storyline has lot of drama and intrigue and to know the rest you will have to catch the episode,” signs off the actress Mreenal.
