The Day the Earth Stood Still launches to $31M debut
Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly starrer ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ released by Fox Studio is doing very well worldwide. Audiences sat still for the Keanu Reeves’ sci-fi remake “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” making it in the weekend’s Top Movie in U.S with a $31 million debut.

The 20th Century Fox release also added $39 million in 90 overseas markets for a worldwide total of $70 million. In India, despite the impact of the recent attacks in Mumbai and the huge competitive release in ‘Rab na bana di Jodi’, nothing stopped the movie loving audiences! “The Day the Earth Stood Still” grossed 3 crore rupees in its opening weekend. In the Mumbai circuit alone, the movie has grossed 1 Crore rupees in its opening weekend.
Well needless to say, having the Hollywood hearthrob Keanu Reeves in yet another sci-fi for the weekend is enough reason by itself for any movie lover to hit the theatres!
