Riya Sen versus Raima Sen in Rituparno Ghosh film Naukadubi

We have often heard of cat fight between the two leading ladies of a film, but what happens when 2 sisters are working together in the same film? We are talking of the bong sisters Riya and Raima Sen who will be seen sharing screen space together for the first time in Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Noukadubi’.

According to bollywood news, apparently Rituparno had approached Riya and Raima for the film at the same time and both of them even received the script together. They were offered two very diverse roles and both of them had no qualms playing the characters. However, according to our sources, Riya initially thought Raima’s character had a lot more prominence and had much more scope and dimension to it as compared to hers.

But being a thorough professional and a doting sister, Riya chose to go ahead with the role she was offered, as it was extremely challenging. Interestingly, both the actresses are playing roles very contrary to their public image. While Riya Sen is considered to be a sexy siren who can give half the population with the Y chromosome sleepless nights, in this movie she will be seen in a complete de-glam avatar. On the other hand, Raima, who is known for her intelligent and matured roles, will be playing a sophisticated woman.

While both sisters are aware of the comparisons that will be drawn, they are more thrilled at the prospect of featuring in the same film, under the able hands of acclaimed director Rituparno Ghosh.
