Rajesh Shringarpore - Another Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the making.
Rajesh Shringarpore, playing Shilpa Shukla’s husband (Rohit Shanbag) in Anurag’s Kashyap’s telefilm ‘Rajuben’ is hottest new gangster on screen. After being nominated for an award in Sarkar Raaj, for his portrayal of Sanjay Somji, played with a high edged finesse, Rajesh is currently searing the small screen with his intensity, easily reminding one of an earlier on-screen angry young man. Just two films old though, Rajesh could play a college kid just as easily.

“Mr Bachchan is really interested in knowing how my career is shaping up after Sarkar Raj, he called me thrice on the sets, and said, “Something good should happen you. He also recommended me to a big banner.” beams a proud Rajesh. As per Bollywood News, he has completed two films, one for Ram Gopal Varma, and one for Ashish Nagpal, titled ‘Aaja Gunah Kar Le’. He is currently doing a film called ‘Ek Rani Aisi Bhi’, based on Vijayarani Scindia played by Hema Malini, where he’s playing Madhavrao Scindia. The film is a very nicely shown political tussle, with personal overtones between the two, she being from BJP and he being from Congress. Deepak Tijori is keen to work with Rajesh and R Mohan has approached him to play the lead role in his next film.
“I am flexible about the kind of work. I am looking for, I consider myself to be versatile, honestly,” he says with no hint of an apology. “I can play romantic to the core or a strong character. And I’ve done that. My first film was ‘Paramveer Chakra’ way back in 1995, a national award winning film, a dream project presented by RK, and there I played a toughie.” But in the serial ‘Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Rajesh played the character of Bhootnath, a soft romantic character. “I’d like to do stuff like what Irrfan Khan is doing, the kind of roles he’s playing in his films.” he concludes.
