Bikram Choudhary and Patrick Wee partner a wellness centre
What happens when a maverick Yoga master and a charismatic Singaporean entrepreneur marry skills and ideas? You create the best wellness centre this side of the Suez Canal. The founder of the worldwide Yoga College of India, Bikram Choudhury, comes back to his motherland India to set up his Bikram Hot Yoga Centre, as an integral part of True Fitness, founded by the Singapore based Patrick Wee, one of the biggest names to reckon with internationally in the business of Health. As part of the expansion plans across Asia, the True Group has now launched their first centre in Andheri, Mumbai, with an all-in-one centre offering Fitness, Spa and Bikram Hot Yoga. Soon to be followed up by centres in other metros.
Spanning across 60,000 square feet, True Fitness, the latest exclusive fitness and lifestyle club, will be equipped with facilities including state-of-the-art Cardio Machines, Power Plate® – the accelerated fat burning method, Aerobics Studios, Resistance and Free Weight Area, Steam & Sauna Rooms and even a dedicated Women’s Work-out Area. Hot Yoga, a scientifically designed style of yoga by Bikram Choudhary, guided by a specific dialogue pumping the mind, body and spirit via a 90-minute session in a 40 degree Celsius heated studio.
Patrick Wee, CEO of True Fitness along with his partner Bikram Choudhary of Bikram’s Hot Yoga welcomed celebrity guests like the eternal Macho Man of the Industry, the extremely fit Dharmendra, veteran writer Sachin Bhowmick, the man who weaves the magic of stories on celluloid with his words, popular music director Bhappi Lahiri and Sonu Nigam, the Golden voice of India who were all there to endorse their support to Guru Bikram Choudhary, who is the celebrity Guru of Hollywood entities like Michael Jackson, Madonna, David Beckham etc. In India, Bikram has been the Guru to people like Dharmendra, Indira Gandhi, Nargis, Meena Kumari etc since the fifties. Bikram’s ‘Wall of Fame’ was the high point of attraction for the guests and the media, with a truly rare and cherished bunch of pictures. True Fitness and Bikram Choudhary will hopefully open the eyes of the Indian populace to health in the way it is internationally. The celebrity guests were each given complimentary memberships to the really swank True Fitness Club. The official launch will be a star studded event held this month h with Hollywood celebrities possibly gracing the occasion as well.
